Progress to final piece
This work needs updating to developed work as well when done

This work is my final piece, the paintings of the Caban Coch Dam, Elan Valley, this painting was a joy to make because of exploring different techniques and producing energy with mark making. Another reason why I likes making this piece of work because I enjoy painting landscapes, especially like this where I have so much to work on with the colours, the trees, the sky and the lake. what I could have done to improve it is to add two more colours in the lake and the right hand side of the sky to break up the colours a bit to make it more eye catching. I May develop this further.

This is the work I did when I was on holiday. The Photos are taken in the Brecon Beacons, and I did quick 2 min sketches of these phots in the style of Auerback, I liked doing these drawings in his style as it imprints in your mind when you keep drawing it. I could have done more drawings to make more work with different photos and could have done some drawings in a different medium as well to give a different variety of materials.

This painting is done with black and white acrylic paint, this was an experiment with tones and using texture. this was a good exercise to practice colour mixing to get different greys, I used a colour study to create different tones to use in the painting. I also planned out by drawing it first on where it should go, then went to painting it on a A3 piece of cartridge paper. What I could have done better with this painting is that I could have done bit more to extent the layers in the work to make it batter, also could have done a few more techniques like mark making in there to give the painting more energy.

My own work
This work was done at the start of the project. I made some home made sketchbooks to do some drawings and paintings in on what I like. this was a good way of drawing on different surfaces and different textures. It also allows me to adapt to the page and use different shaped and different sized paper makes it a bit different

this was a practice/experiment with photoshop. these are my mood boars using my hand made sketchbooks
This work is to show my skills in my specialist pathway, it also shows different techniques by using paint and graphite. This was a good exercise to get an idea of different ways to do abstract expressionism.
This is my main work that I do at home. I mainly focus on landscapes and looking into the beauty of the world in nature. Doing this work has helped me to improve my skills in each piece of work. and it has also improved my skills in observation and mark making.
